Disaster struck after Sotherberter's Deli on 32th street announced a 5% off sale on their recently arrived stock of Uncle Panbread's Resalted Butter.
Reginald Sotherberter, the store's proprietor opened his store this morning only to find that hundreds of crazed butter-fans had broken in the previous night through the trust-system protected back entrance and lined up in an orderly manner to obtain the aforementioned reduced-price increased-salt butter. Mr. Sotherberter went to call the police before realizing that police sergeant Mike Sanchez along with his entire force were also in line for the butter. Resigned, Mr. Sotherberter decided to sell the butter anyway without filing a formal complaint and the rest of the day went without incident, aside from a hydroterrorist scare (that turned out to be a false alarm) when the store's fish tank water filter momentarily malfunctioned.
The store's entire stock of butter was exhausted in five minutes, with some deciding to consume their entire package immediately after purchase, which is rather notable considering this shipment of Uncles Breadpan's was sold in industrial size 35lb pails, instead of the standard 65lb crates. More news as it comes.
A moment on the lips is forever on the hips.
